Base Oils
Here's a little bit about the oils we use.  
Remember each bar contains all the following oils & butters.
 
The main ingredient is Olive Oil. It's renowned for it's moisturising properties because it attracts moisture to your skin. It adds a firmness to the bar and gives a silky lather.  
 
Avocado Oil nourishes and restores dry skin. It's a rich heavy oil, high is unsaponifiables (which means more of the oil stays in the finished soap) so helps make a very moisturising soap.
 
Caster Oil is a thick clear viscous liquid pressed from the caster bean. A very moisturising lubricating oil, high in fatty acids. It acts as a humectant attracting moisture to the skin.
 
Coconut Oil produces a hard soap with a fluffy lather.
 
Palm Oil gives a hard soap that doesnt dissolve quickly in water.
 
 Cocoa Butter has softening, skin healing properties.
 
Shea Butter also known as african karite butter, is a smooth and creamy white butter that is extremely moisturing and gentle. Gives a luxurious silky feel to soap.
 
Sunflower Oil is a light oil suitable for delicate skins, produces a light lather with big bubbles.
 
Essential Oils
  
Lavender - One of the most versatile therapeutic essences. It is used for nervous system disorders such as depression, headache, hypertension, insomnia, migraine, nervous tension, stress related conditions, PMT, sciatica, shock and vertigo. Lavender is useful in treating skin conditions such as abscesses, acne, allergies, athlete's foot, boils, bruises, burns, dandruff, dermatitis, earache, eczema, inflammations, insect bites and stings, insect repellant, lice, psoriasis, ringworm, scabies, sores, spots, all skin types, sunburn and wounds.

Rose Geranium - Has a balancing effect on the nervous system and relieves depression and anxiety, while lifting the spirits and making the world an easier place to live in. It has a balancing effect on the adrenal cortex and is great for relieving stress. Especially good for the ladies at that certain time of the month. 

Lime oil - can stimulate and refresh a tired mind and helps with depression. It has an astringent and toning action to clear oily skin and acne, and also helps with insect bites and cuts. it is also thought to revitalize a tired mind, banishing the feeling of apathy, anxiety and depression.
 
Sweet Orange  - It is a sunny and radiant oil, bringing happiness and warmth to the mind and helps people to relax and helps children to sleep at night. Orange oil can be used effectively on the immune system, as well as for colds and flu and to eliminate toxins from the body.
 
Cinnamon leaf - oil's benefit lies in its toning and calming effect on the respiratory tract, the nervous system, and in the easing of colds and influenza, as well as period pains.
 
Ginger  - is well suited to help ease colds and flu, nausea, motion sickness, morning sickness, muscle aches and pains, as well as poor circulation and arthritic pain. Its warming qualities are good to use for feelings of loneliness and winter depression, and its energizing properties make it a good aphrodisiac.
 
Grapefruit  - It has an uplifting effect on the mood and helps with stress and depression. It is used with great success to combat muscle fatigue and stiffness while stimulating the lymphatic system and thereby clearing the body of toxins. It helps to clear congested oily skin and also assists with acne, while toning the skin and tissues. Grapefruit is used in hair care to promote hair growth
 
Palmarosa  -  calms the mind, yet has an uplifting effect, while clearing muddled thinking. It is used to counter physical and nervous exhaustion, stress-related problems and nervousness. It moisturizes the skin, while balancing the hydration levels and stimulating cell regeneration. It balances production of sebum, to keep the skin supple and elastic and is valuable for use with acne, dermatitis, preventing scarring, rejuvenating and regenerating the skin, as well as fighting minor skin infections, sore tired feet and athlete's foot.
 
Peppermint - On the skin, peppermint oil is used to relieve skin irritation and itchiness and also helps to reduce skin redness, where inflammation is present. It is used for dermatitis, acne, ringworm, scabies and pruritus and also relieves itching, sunburn and inflammation of the skin, while at the same time having a cooling action. It is also excellent for mental fatigue and depression, refreshing the spirit and stimulating mental agility and improving concentration. It helps for apathy, shock, headache, migraine, nervous stress.
 
Rosemary - On the skin, it helps to ease congestion, puffiness and swelling and can also be used for acne, dermatitis and eczema, but a very popular use of this oil is the use in hair care products, as it has a pronounced positive effect on the health of the hair and scalp. It increases the circulation to the scalp and is therefore also effective for promoting hair growth. Rosemary oil has a pronounced action on the brain and the central nervous system and is wonderful for clearing the mind and mental awareness, while having excellent brain stimulant properties, as well as improving memory
 
Ylang Ylang - On the skin, ylang-ylang oil has a soothing effect and its balancing action sorts out over-dry as well as overly-oily skin by balancing the secretion of sebum, and has a stimulating effect on the scalp which promotes more luxurious hair growth. Ylang-ylang oil has a euphoric and sedative effect on the nervous system and helps with anxiety, tension, shock, fear and panic while the aphrodisiac qualities is useful for impotence and frigidity.
